When you find yourself anxious and stressed, ask yourself is this normal day to day stress, time management issues, relationship stress with others either at work or home or does the anxiety feel like it’s so much you might need talk to someone?
If you feel it’s normal anxiety, pay attention to what you are saying to yourself about it or are you blaming yourself? Try to let go of your inner critic blaming yourself for a situation you may not be able to change or control. Hear what your inner critic says to you.
You might also try to release the anxiety and take a walk, organize a room or exercise.
Lastly, if you are able to step back and be in the moment, what are you doing? Is the problem part of the moment or outside of what you are doing right now? Can you separate the present from the anxious thought and not combine them?
If you can try these mindful ways of managing anxiety, could it tap into the ability to view situations differently and begin to work on issues in a different way?
