As a counselor I am always suggesting to my clients they figure out what their triggers are to stress. Some people know, some don’t.
In order sometimes to think about what actually caused you stress or for you to be able to think about a stressful situation you might go to a place that makes you peaceful. A place you enjoy being where you feel good, energized and your mind & thinking opens up. Then you can think a little more clearly about situations, see them for what they are, how you reacted, how they affected you, etc…
Suggestions for you might be a library if you are into books, taking a walk, working out or meeting for lunch with one of the friends you have had since childhood. Doing these types of activities that feel good to you can be a first step.
